DVD Review of the Formula One 2007 season

Thursday, December 20th, 2007

Just how close did Lewis Hamilton get?

What went wrong in China?

Did the best man win?

All of the above and much much more are answered in the Formula One review DVD which all of us here at www.gokarting.co.uk watched the other evening.  What an XMAS do!!!!

No honestly, this DVD is worth watching, it certainly encapsulates the whole Formula One season and more importantly the Hamilton factor.  Kimi was the deserved winner but this DVD digs a little deeper.  Formula One and motorsport fans will not be disappointed.

We noticed the DVD is a bargain price on Amazon - if you wish to buy take a quick look - last time we looked it was no more than £13 (save £7).  It is the best XMAS pressie we have found so far this year.  It’s motorsport too!

INDOOR CHRISTMAS GOKARTING EVENTS IN LONDON

Saturday, September 22nd, 2007

It is that time of year again.  Only 94 days to go, and counting.

Its nearly Christmas

In the past few days we have had a record number of enquiries for December gokarting bookings in London.  Wise organisers are checking availability and confirming their events, well in advance of the November rush.  There really is no time like the present to book your gokarting event with www.gokarting.co.uk.

As well as the GOKARTING we can also offer super value food and Bar packages - for an event organiser what could be simpler?

All of our Indoor gokarting choices get booked very early so please call us on 020 7476 1234 to discuss venues and your possible dates.  By all means send us an email events@gokarting.co.uk.  If you proceed with a booking simply quote BLOG and your name will go into a hat for a chance to win a bottle of champagne.

The central London Kings Cross gokarting venue, in the North of London, always proves the most popular gokarting venue because it is convenient to the City and its only a short cab ride from plenty of nightlife in Islington and Soho.  Apart its prime location the motor sport is entertaining too!

If you are considering gokarting in Greenwich Docklands, for those of you in Canary Wharf who want to start their celebrations in style, you will need to book relatively soon as the December slots are being confirmed quickly.  NB : We offer a courtesy coach pickup and drop off form North Greenwich tube if you book a midweek event - so there is no need to drive.

Streatham karting is also easily accessible from London Bridge and is also proving popular among clients in the City and South London.  It is advisable to make your enquiries as early as possible.

All events are exclusive and trophies are presented to the top drivers.

In our opinion there is no better way to start, even finish, your works Christmas do.  Feel free to ask us any questions about local hotels, restaurants and karting choices.  We are happy to help - 020 7476 1234.

Lloyds TSB Karting Event in aid of Barnado’s

Sunday, July 29th, 2007

Thank you to everyone from Lloyds TSB who supported the BARNADO’s chartity GoKarting race held at Streatham Kart raceway on the 26th July 2007.

After months of preparation Dean Palumbo successfully recruited 48 competitors to race for each of their departments pride.  Teams from various parts of the Lloyds TSB IT department competed against each other in aid of the Barnado’s charity.

The gokarters came from far and wide, Manchester, Andover and even as far as Chingford, Essex!  This was an ideal opportunity for everyone to put “names to faces” and improve team spirits.

After a few polite introductions, it all became very serious - crash helmets on, let the gokarting challenge begin!

Once everyone had had a chance to get familiar with the track it was time to race and demonstrate just how competitive IT people can be.

“The Four Stigs” took a very quick advantage and virtually led from the outset - John Burnett, the pro among the group, regularly posting sub 26 second laps, which helped their cause immensly.  After two hours of solid Team Endurance GoKarting at Streatham the Four Stigs finished one lap ahead of the chasing group.  There was a signifcant battle for 2nd place between three teams, who all finished in a heap on the same lap.  The Krazy Karters held on to Second place by 0.340 of a second ahead of Penelope and Her Pitstops who finished a proud third.  Just missing a podium finish in 4th, the toughest position to accept, by a mere 2.590 seconds, was SD London. Throughout the race everyone followed their teams progress each taking turn to take responsibility for driving.  Team tactics proved to be important, as too many driver changes meant a gradual loss of position.

No one will be taking Lewis Hamiltons seat at McClaren but the scouts tell me to keep an eye on the deceptively fast Tony Wetheridge - smooth and slick.

Maria Clarkin also deserves a special mention too - sacrificing her chance of driving for a demonstration of her catering skills.

We suspect the North of Watford team got delayed at the Watford gap.

Irrespective of any gokarting traffic problems everyone was involved to the very end and it is appreciated that the momentum was sustained throughout the gokarting event.

LLOYDS TSB GOKARTING AT STREATHAM

It is clear that everyone, as you can see from the above photo, enjoyed their GoKarting experience at Streatham especially as their participation contributed towards such a deserving charity.  We are also pleased to say all profits from both GOKARTING.CO.UK and Playscape at Streatham were passed onto Barnado’s.  Combined with a few extra private contributions from Lloyds TSB, Dean Palumbo and his team managed to raise a massive £700.

Congratulations to all involved and we would love to see you all again in the near future.  For details on how to book your own event, or to arrange a Corporate Team event for yourselves or your colleagues please take a look at http://www.gokarting.co.uk/ where you will find all the GOKARTING information you need.  If you want to talk through you event please also feel free to call us on 020 7476 1234 - we are happy to help anyone who is plannig a karting event.

We are delighted to have supported LTSB in their efforts to raise money for Barnado’s, which is such a worthy cause.  Have fun and we hope you enjoyed your GoKarting experience - see you soon.

Nifty Little Car Games

Monday, October 2nd, 2006

I was browsing on several blogs and came across some good Car Games on a Car Blog called CarSpareFinder Blog. They have some little car games in which you can waste away many hours on, including a tax revolt game, rather good in my eyes.
